What is Gıda Etiketi, and who is it for?

Gıda Etiketi is a digital preliminary review application that reads food packaging and compares it with configured checking rules. It examines areas such as ingredients, allergens, net quantity, origin and nutrition information within the scope of the product and readable evidence. The report shows detected information, expected conditions and explanations alongside its score.

Manufacturers, brand owners, food engineers, quality teams and packaging designers can use it when reviewing new artwork or revisions. Export teams can also benefit from language consistency findings, while destination-market requirements need separate assessment. Start with the application’s purpose and users and our step-by-step label checking guide.

Is the label checker free? Do I pay for the report?

In the current version, uploading a label, running the automated preliminary check, viewing results and downloading the PDF report are free. These actions do not require card details, a subscription or purchased analysis credits. Free use does not mean unlimited processing capacity: file limits and technical request limits apply to protect the service.

This describes the application’s current model. Separately requested Brix consultancy, formulation assessment or product-specific technical work is outside the automated report’s scope; its scope and pricing are discussed separately. You can start a free preliminary label check or explore the Brix engineering approach.

Do I need an account or an email address?

You do not need to register to upload a label, start an analysis or view the result. You can also download the PDF without providing an email address. An email address is collected if you request email delivery or use a feedback form that asks for contact details.

There is no personal account archive that you can sign into from another device. Access information is associated with the current tab session; knowing the analysis number alone does not open a private report. Download reports you need to retain. Our report access and administrator review explanation provides further detail.

Who develops the software, and who is behind it?

Gıda Etiketi brings Brix Mühendislik’s food labelling approach into a digital preliminary review application. It is backed by 20 years of food engineering experience. That experience informs an approach that considers packaging statements together with the product’s formulation, composition, production conditions and supporting technical documents.

The 20-year figure describes the professional experience behind the application, not the age of the software. It does not mean an engineer individually reviews every automated report. How are my label file and report protected?

Source files are not stored in a public file directory. An access key is created after upload and checked when retrieving analysis status, results and the PDF report. The server stores a verification hash of that key. File type and size are validated, and request limits help reduce misuse of the service.

Share access information and downloaded PDFs only with authorized people, and avoid leaving a report open on a shared device. These are specific access controls, not an independent security certification or a promise of zero risk. Our data and privacy page explains who can access the source and results.

Are my files public, or can they appear in Google?

Uploaded labels and private analysis results are not added to the site’s public information pages, sitemaps or public AI-readable documentation. Access to an analysis and its PDF requires the access key. Sharing an analysis number alone does not create a public report link.

Authorized administrators may inspect original PDFs/images, retained reports and reading evidence to investigate errors. Deleted original PDFs/images cannot be opened from the administrator archive either. Labels and company details are not sold, published or shared for advertising. Copies you download and share are available to their recipients. Read the uploaded data and access explanation for further detail.

Is the file processed only on my device? Is AI used?

Analysis is not performed entirely in your browser: the file is uploaded to the service’s server infrastructure. OCR reads text from images. When visual assessment is enabled, label images may also be processed by Cloudflare Workers AI to extract evidence such as text emphasis or symbols. Findings are evaluated using the configured rule engine.

Cloud processing is different from public publication. This explanation does not mean that no service provider processes files or that files stay only on your device. Leave out unnecessary recipes, identity documents and pages for other products. The data processing explanation describes this part of the workflow.

How long are uploads retained? Does closing the tab delete them?

The original PDF/image remains in private storage accessible only to administrators until an administrator explicitly deletes it. Completing or cancelling the analysis, closing the tab or archiving does not delete it. Reports, extracted text and findings are retained separately; technical error and processing logs are retained for 90 days.

Closing a tab alone does not prove the server received cancellation. Use the analysis cancel action to obtain server confirmation. Clearing browser history does not delete the server report. Email and notification consent records are separate from the report archive. Read retention and cleanup details, and save PDFs you will need later.

Which file formats and limits are supported?

PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP are accepted. A file must not be empty or exceed 10 MB; a PDF may contain up to 4 pages. Renaming the extension does not convert the format: the file content is validated too. Prefer the original PDF exported from your design software.

Include the front, back and side panels of the same product in one file. Multiple images can be combined into a readable PDF. Do not combine different products or crop out small fields and panels containing required information. The file preparation guide explains how to prepare a useful source.

Do low resolution, tilted photos or glare affect the result?

Yes. Blur, weak contrast, creases and reflections can make small text, decimal separators and units uncertain. Enlarging an image cannot restore missing source detail. Flatten the package, keep the camera parallel to the text and reduce reflections when taking another photograph.

An unreadable area marked uncertain does not mean the information is definitely absent from the label. Complete reading cannot be guaranteed at every resolution. Improve the source first, then inspect the evidence for any remaining uncertainty. Our report status guide explains the follow-up appropriate to each outcome.

Why might quantity or origin be marked uncertain?

The quantity may appear on another panel, its number and unit may not be readable together, or readings may conflict. A nutrition table’s “100 g” reference cannot stand in for the package’s net quantity. Similarly, a country in a business address is not necessarily an origin statement. Detecting text and assigning it to the correct field are separate steps.

If the information is clear in the source, do not change a correct label simply to match the report. Compare detected and expected evidence, and report persistent errors with the rule code, page and exact wording. The net quantity and origin guide explains these distinctions.

Does the checker cover every Turkish Food Codex rule and product category?

A report is limited to the active rules when analysis starts and the readable label evidence. It does not mean every Turkish Food Codex regulation, exception and transition condition has been automatically verified. Categories such as chocolate, fruit juice and dairy require relevant product-specific rules to be configured and active.

For food supplements or special-purpose products, do not assume a general label review provides a complete assessment. Confirmed out-of-scope items are omitted; uncertainty about whether a rule applies should be explained. Read about category-specific checks and rule applicability.

What does “approved rules” mean, and who approves them?

“Approved” describes the application’s administrative process: drafting a rule and activating it with administrator approval are separate steps. Analysis uses the rule versions that are approved and active at that time. A proposed rule or feedback submission does not automatically become a check applied to every user.

This is not ministry approval, official certification or individual expert approval of each report. Read the rule’s basis, scope and expected condition together; an internal checking preference is different from a legal requirement. A later rule change does not automatically update an earlier report. The rule scope guide explains how this affects a review.

Can it verify claims, allergen emphasis and physical font size?

Review of these areas depends on an active relevant rule and the necessary readable evidence. A nutrition claim may require more than detecting its wording: values from the correct nutrition column, a formulation or laboratory results may be needed. The appropriateness of a health claim cannot always be established from packaging artwork alone.

An allergen appearing in OCR text does not prove it is visually emphasized in print. Physical font size and packaging area may require the actual print scale. The explanation should identify whether clearer images, measurements or technical documents are needed. Explore nutrition checks and the limits of label evidence.

Does a high score or PDF report mean my label is officially approved?

No. The report summarizes the checks performed; it is not official approval, a laboratory report or a certificate covering all food legislation. A passed item means only that the particular condition was met using the available evidence. A high score can coexist with items requiring further review.

Before making a print or market-release decision, assess unresolved items against the source and relevant product documents. An earlier report does not verify artwork revised afterwards. The report reading guide explains how to interpret scores and findings together; our Brix background page describes the approach to further technical support.

Does the English version apply different regulations?

No. It is the English interface for the same application, with the same analysis engine, active rules and records. Selecting English does not automatically select EU, UK or US regulations. The requirements of an export destination must be assessed separately.

When Turkish and English text is present on the label, relevant language checks may appear in separate sections. Source wording and administrator-authored rule text may remain in their original language to preserve meaning. Read about language subreports and how they differ from the interface language.

How long does analysis take, and what does “will retry” mean?

Duration depends on page count, readability, required processing and service demand. The stages show upload, queue, analysis and report preparation; elapsed time is not a completion guarantee. A retry message means another attempt is planned for the same analysis after a temporary processing-service problem. It is not a finding of noncompliance on your label.

After a connection or time warning, use the status retry action when offered. Avoid repeatedly uploading new copies of a job that has not finished. You may cancel an active analysis. Read the cancellation and refresh answer and the analysis workflow guide for the next steps.

What happens if I cancel, refresh or leave during analysis?

While analysis is running, “Cancel analysis”, page links and refresh shortcuts that the page can detect ask for cancellation confirmation. Staying keeps the check running. Confirming departure or refresh starts cancellation of the active check; you need to upload the file again for a new analysis. A cancelled check is not a completed report.

Browser refresh, back and tab-close controls cannot always show a custom dialog. A cancellation request is sent on direct departure; its completion depends on the browser and connection. The access key can be lost when the tab session closes. Download completed PDFs, and do not confuse cancellation with immediate deletion of server data.

How do I download or email a report? Is notification consent required?

Use the PDF download in the completed results screen to save the report. Keep it with the analysis number and the artwork version reviewed so that revisions can be traced. To request email delivery, enter the recipient address in the report form; the report will be sent to that address.

Notification consent is separate and optional; it is not required to receive the report. You can withdraw it later through the preferences link. If email delivery is unavailable, use the PDF download. Read about email and notification data and report sharing.

How do I report an incorrect finding or get expert support?

Use the detailed report’s feedback area to identify the analysis number, rule code, exact label wording and relevant page. Give a specific explanation, such as “200 g appears at the bottom right of the back panel.” Distinguishing a reading error from an absent or conflicting declaration helps focus the investigation.

Feedback does not automatically change the saved result or active rules: review and rule approval are separate processes. For questions requiring a recipe, specification or regulatory interpretation, you can request separate support through Brix food labelling consultancy, on its Turkish website. The next-step guide helps turn a finding into an action.
