1. Prepare the complete label
Include the front, back and any side panels. The product name may be on the front, ingredients and nutrition on the back, and net quantity or origin elsewhere. Uploading only one panel can prevent the checker from verifying information on the other panels.
Use the original design PDF when available. For a photograph, flatten the packaging, keep the camera parallel to the text and avoid glare or shadows. Do not crop out small areas such as quantity, dates or business information.
- Include only one product and its label panels in each file.
- A PDF can have up to 4 pages; the file limit is 10 MB.
- Supported formats are PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP.
- If you have several images, combine the panels for the same product into a readable PDF.
2. Select and validate the file
Drag the file into the upload area or use “Choose file”. The checker validates its format, size and PDF page count. Once accepted, the selected file name and size are displayed.
If you chose the wrong file, remove it and select another. “Upload and start analysis” starts the process; selecting a file alone does not start an analysis. Resolve any warning about an empty or unsupported file before trying again.
3. Follow the analysis
After upload, the analysis enters the queue. Text is extracted, evidence is collected for label fields, and the applicability of approved rules is evaluated. The screen shows whether the job is queued, running or complete.
While a check is active, page links and refresh shortcuts that the page can detect open a confirmation dialog. “Stay on this page” keeps the analysis running; confirming cancellation and leaving or refreshing cancels the check. You can also stop the check with “Cancel analysis”. Use “Check status again” without refreshing after a connection or time warning.
Browser refresh, back and close controls may bypass the custom dialog. A cancellation request is sent on departure; delivery depends on the browser and connection. Upload the file again to start a new check after cancellation. Download the completed PDF to keep your report.
4. Read each finding
The results show the analysis number, file name, score and status counts. Open “View details” to see what was detected, what each check expected and any explanation. Start with failed checks and items that need review.
“Uncertain” does not mean the information is definitely absent. The text may be unreadable, or the check may require visual emphasis, print dimensions, a recipe or another document. A quantity being printed and that quantity being reliably read are separate issues.
Rules confirmed to be outside the product’s scope are omitted. If applicability itself is uncertain, an explained review item may remain.
5. Download or request the report by email
Use “Download PDF” to save the report. Keep its file name and analysis number with the source label so you can distinguish different design revisions for the same product.
The email form sends the report to the address you enter. Notification consent is separate and optional; it is not required to request the report. If email is unavailable, follow the message on screen and use the PDF download.
6. Resolve findings and check the revised label
For each finding, inspect the source label first. If it is a reading problem, upload a clearer source. If information is actually missing or incorrect, revise the artwork and analyze the new version. An earlier report does not verify later artwork.
If a finding appears wrong, use the feedback form in the detailed report. Include the rule code, the actual wording on the label and the relevant panel or page. Feedback does not automatically change or activate approved rules.
